Unlike thermocouples, Pt100 RTD sensors do not need cables made from special conductors to extend them. We can use copper cables and we offer a range of insulation types and constructions suitable for use with RTD pt100 sensors.
The temperature ratings of the RTD cables listed below are stated for the cable itself rather than the temperature of the process being measured by the RTD sensor, which may be higher or lower.
Heat Resistant PVC insulated RTD cable is a good choice for general purpose applications. The cable has a temperature range of -30ºC to +105ºC and is available with 2,3,4 or 6-cores of 7/0.2mm copper conductors, with a tinned copper braid screen and PVC overall insulation.
Heat Resistant PFA insulated RTD cable has a wider temperature range than PVC of -75ºC to +250ºC and is available with 2,3,4 or 6-cores of 7/0.2mm copper conductors, with a nickel plated copper braid screen and PFA overall insulation. PFA is resistant to virtually all known oils and chemicals, it is also gas, steam and water tight.
For high temperature applications Fibreglass insulated RTD cable is the best choice. It has a has a maximum temperature of 480ºC but short term up to 540ºC and is available with 2,3,4 or 6-cores of 7/0.2mm copper conductors. A stainless steel braid provides mechanical and abrasion protection.
